Cranberry "Recipes"

From Dad- from his Army days. (Not sure how legit these are.)

CRANBERRY-PEAR CONSERVE
1 [12 OZ.] PKG. fresh cranberries ¼ c. water
1/3 C. golden raisins 1/3 c. pear Schnapps
½ c.sugar
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. In a 13x9 inch pan [baking] combine all ingredients but the Schnapps. Cover with foil and bake for 45 mins. Carefully remove foil [conserve will be steaming] and drizzle with Schnapps. Cool completely [can be made ahead]. Cover and refrigerate for up to 1 week. Makes 2½ cups.
CRANBERRY SALAD
1 Small box raspberry, strawberry or lemon jello ½ c. water
1 can whole cranberry sauce chopped apple and nuts [optional]
1 orange, ground in food processor [use small amount of skin also]
Dissolve jello in water in double boiler. Add cranberry sauce and orange. Mold. Fill center with chicken salad for a lunch or serve with chicken or meat for dinner. Serves about 6.
